sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me well, i know people always say that, i for one disagree with the statement above. it may sound silly, "how can words hurt one more so than physical pain?" wounds normally heal and get better in time, though in certain circumstances the scar tissues never go away, we still find a way to move on and fight for our survival, that's just basic human nature.
words ,however fly straight across, breaking our souls open, eating into our conscience. (of course only words said by someone of significance to you would take that sort of effect) just one word, destroys all serenity and a wave of emotions start to flood us from within like a a pebble drop into the water could cause a ripple in the entire lake, causing us to doubt ourselves, eroding our believes n faith.
what happens then when these words have worn you out, and no matter how hard you try to shake them off, they're already etched within you, all you can do is to work pass that memory, though one is never the same again, arrogant and ignorant as it may sound but those words should only serve a single purpose of reminding never to repeat the same mistakes, because we will always fall short of expectations be it of our parents, friends, partners, bosses, teachers. all we can do is to keep living our lives, being the best that we can be, taking things as they come and savouring each breath, remembering that we're here for a greater purpose.
with all that's said and done, we can always count on LOVE of friends, family, that special someone and God. That is more than enough for a reason to keep fighting for the good in this earth, for tomorrow brings new opportunities for battles to be won.
